Current opportunities – Corporate Tax

We are delighted to be able to offer additional opportunities for driven and ambitious students to join our Brisbane Corporate Tax team as summer vacationers in February 2021.

Corporate Tax

Australia's tax landscape is increasingly complex, and businesses of all shapes and sizes look to us for advice on effectively and efficiently managing their tax obligations. Our Corporate Tax team work with our clients to understand their business and commercial needs, enabling us to provide value-added, proactive commercial tax advice, and allowing our clients to make confident business decisions. Our team work across a broad spectrum of complex tax issues at every stage of the business lifecycle including business structuring, major corporate transactions (acquisitions and restructures), transactional tax advice and tax compliance.

Our program

Our vacation experience program will give you the opportunity to begin your career well before you finish your degree, offering you a unique insight into our business and the opportunity to experience what it's like to provide advisory and consulting services to clients at one of the world's leading professional services firms.

With the opportunity to work in the Corporate Tax team, our vacation experience program will see you working alongside industry leaders to support some of Australia's most dynamic leading and emerging businesses.

As a vacationer, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Work on real client engagements
  • Get involved in our committees and clubs
  • Receive mentoring and feedback sessions with your assigned coach • Attend regular networking events and social activities
  • Participate in projects with a social/community impact

We predominantly recruit our graduates through our vacation experience program – so a successful vacationer experience could also fast-track you to a graduate offer!

What we're looking for

We're looking for driven, well-rounded candidates who can connect with our clients, our purpose and our culture and want to make an impact right from the start.

A demonstrated interest in Corporate Tax is essential, and studies in Accounting, Tax or Law will be highly regarded.

In addition to studying towards a relevant qualification, we're looking for people who are curious, ambitious and who value the things we value:

  • We empower our people to make a difference. We want our people to think for themselves, to speak up, and to actively shape our firm's culture and future.
  • We genuinely care about our clients. As part of our work, we discover what's important to them and enjoy helping them succeed.
  • We want our people to bring their whole selves to work. Individuality and authenticity are very important to our firm.
  • We highly value collaboration. We believe that it's energising and stimulating to collaborate – to learn from and be inspired by others. We believe that diverse teams will always outperform the individual.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this vacation program opportunity, you must be:

  • in your penultimate year of study (i.e. 2nd year of a 3 year degree, 3rd year of a 4 year degree, etc);
  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or an Australian permanent resident; and
  • available to undertake a placement in February 2021.

Please note: due to current border restrictions, we will only be considering students who currently reside in QLD or can demonstrate that they have unrestricted entry into QLD for this opportunity.

I think the great thing about Audit is that you get exposure to and the opportunity to learn so much about so many different industries and therefore it gives you an opportunity to choose what industry you wish to specialise in.
