The world of Civil Engineering

Our portfolio of projects at Laing O'Rourke spans across rail, infrastructure, defence and buildings and includes many of Australia's most challenging and iconic projects. Civil Engineers are involved in all aspects of these types of projects from the development and into the delivery of design, procurement, planning, construction, logistics, project management, completions and handover of significant packages of work. Our Civil Engineering teams have a natural curiosity about how things are built, whilst using the best technology and processes to change the very nature of our industry. Civil Engineers work with other engineers, trades and professionals to innovate, solve problems and deliver our projects. They really do help design and construct the world around us and embody our "innovation and excellence" business aspirations.

How to apply

  • Why is it that you want to join Laing O'Rourke and what do you think differentiates us from other construction companies?
  • What do you see your contribution, as an intern, to be at Laing O'Rourke?

We are committed to building a workforce that reflects the diverse society in which we live and work. We recognise the increasing importance of flexible work arrangements and family-friendly work practices to enable and maintain a diverse, adaptive and high performing workforce.

Laing O'Rourke is committed to achieving a diverse workforce and strongly encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
