Why Nutrien Ag Solutions?

At Nutrien Ag Solutions we believe Australian agriculture has a bright future – our mission is to see our farmers succeed. The key ingredient is our people. Backed by our values of safety and integrity, we are committed to developing the future leaders of the ag industry.

Reaching every corner of Australia, our team of 4,000 experts work with farmers to solve the challenges that come with growing food and fibre. As part of the Canadian-based Nutrien Limited group, Nutrien Ag Solutions is globally backed, but will always be locally focused. We develop and manufacture our proprietary crop protection, plant nutrition and animal health products here in Australia and work across merchandise, wool, livestock, digital ag, finance, insurance, real estate, and water, to provide everything farmers need to grow our world from the ground up.

Our talented, hard-working employees are the core of our success, so we work equally hard to show our appreciation. Building a team culture where employees share in our success is fundamental to who we are and why we are so successful and bringing in Graduates with fresh new ideas is part of this strategy.

We're calling for Expression of Interest for graduates to join our 2023 Graduate Agronomy Program, because we know that to grow the future of this business, we need new and innovative thinking. With your help, you will play a critical role in sustaining and developing Nutrien Ag Solutions into an inclusive, sustainable, and profitable organisation, helping us remain as the leading agribusiness nationally.

What you’ll be doing

  • The Nutrien Ag Solutions Agronomy Graduate Program is a two-year program during which you will develop broad agronomic input knowledge work with experienced agronomists and perform on farm support and consultation with clients to support the achievement of their production goals and contribute to our overall business goals. In addition, you will spend time in our branches understanding our products, working with our merchandise sales teams, and acquainting yourself with what happens in the branches on a daily basis

  • Whether you are located close to home or relocate to one of our locations within Australia, you will have access to our entire business.

  • We will select a suitable mentor and coach who is a senior leader within the business.  There will be many opportunities to network, share ideas and build your confidence.

  • Throughout the two years you will undertake on the job skills and knowledge training and development. We want this to be a hands-on, real experience. You will also be provided with financial assistance for further education and technical skills training programs.

  • You will gain exposure to key areas of our business which will enable you to develop leadership, decision making, analytical capabilities, sales, customer focus and marketing skills.  Our aim is to develop future leaders and subject matter experts within Nutrien Ag Solutions.

In this unique COVID-19 environment, we'll continue to adhere to all government and state guidance. This means we may need to get creative in how we facilitate your rotations, but we'll still be focused on creating opportunities for you to develop the skills and experiences to fast-track your career.

Are you ready to grow your career with us?

To be considered for the Agronomy Graduate Program, you will graduate in 2022 with a degree in Agricultural Science, Rural Science or a related degree and be able to demonstrate customer service, problem-solving and leadership capabilities. In addition:

  • You will demonstrate a willingness to learn, a proactive approach, strong communication skills and a passion for agriculture.

  • When thinking about whether you should apply for the graduate program at Nutrien Ag Solutions, ask yourself the following: Am I curious? Do I want a long-term career in agronomy? Have I demonstrated leadership in University and extra-curricular activities?  Can I work full time when the program starts in February 2023?  Am I willing to work in and relocate to regional areas?

If you have answered yes to these questions, we want to hear from you!

Once you apply, your application will be reviewed, and selected candidates will progress to an initial video interview with a member of our Talent Attraction team.  We want to hear about your passion for farming and crop production and most importantly, how your goals and values align with ours. Due to COVID-19 our recruitment process will include video interviews. Further stages include psychometric assessment and reference checks.
